What is Paediatric First Aid?
Paediatric First Aid (PFA) is a specialist first aid qualification covering the emergency treatment of babies and children. It is an Ofsted requirement for registered childcare settings and is also invaluable for parents, grandparents and anyone who spends time with children.
Children's bodies respond differently to medical emergencies compared to adults. Doses, techniques and priorities differ significantly. Our Paediatric First Aid course, delivered by experienced instructor Paul Chandler, ensures you have the right skills to help an infant or child in a crisis.

Ofsted & EYFS Requirements
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Statutory Framework requires that:
- •At least one person with a current Paediatric First Aid certificate must be on the premises at all times when children are present
- •Childminders must hold the qualification themselves
- •Certificates must be renewed every 3 years
- •Training must include face-to-face practical elements — online-only courses do not meet the requirements

Blended Learning Option
